AC/DC Fan Completes 1,200-Mile Ultramarathon for Charity in Australia

Rob Pope, a dedicated AC/DC fan from Liverpool, embarked on an extraordinary journey to raise funds for charity by running an ultramarathon dressed as the band’s iconic guitarist, Angus Young. Pope ran a staggering 1,200 miles (1,930 km) across Australia, from Melbourne to Brisbane, while pushing a stroller named ‘Rosie’ in honor of the band’s song ‘Whole Lotta Rosie.’ Along the way, he faced extreme conditions, including intense heat, bushfires, and even a dangerous encounter with a brown snake. Despite these challenges, Pope maintained an impressive pace of 45 miles (72 km) a day, completing the run in just over a month. The funds he raised were split between three charities: the NSPCC, WWF, and The Smith Family. Pope’s commitment to the cause was also supported by AC/DC, who pledged to donate proceeds from inflatable guitar sales at their concerts to the fundraiser.
