Arnel Pineda opens up about wanting to leave Journey amid personal struggles

Filipino singer Arnel Pineda, best known as the frontman of the legendary American rock band Journey, recently revealed that he once considered leaving the group because of personal problems. In his interview, Pineda shared that the pressures of fame, touring, and maintaining his performance standards had taken a toll on his emotional and mental well-being. Despite living what many would consider a dream life, he admitted that the constant time away from family and the demanding nature of his career led him to moments of doubt and exhaustion.

Pineda was discovered by Journey founder Neal Schon through YouTube in 2007 and later joined the band, stepping into the iconic role once held by Steve Perry. Since then, he has showcased his powerful vocals on global tours and helped keep Journey’s music alive for a new generation of fans. However, he confessed that at one point, his struggles nearly made him quit. He said that it took self-reflection, support from loved ones, and encouragement from his bandmates for him to realize the importance of perseverance and gratitude.

Now, Pineda is determined to continue performing and inspiring others. He emphasized that his story is a reminder that even successful artists face challenges behind the spotlight. His openness helps fans appreciate not just his music but also his resilience as a Filipino artist representing the country on an international stage.
