Asake releases genre-blending fourth album M$NEY with international collaborations

Nigerian music star Asake don release him fourth studio album titled M$NEY on May 1, under GIRAN REPUBLIC and EMPIRE. The 13-track project show say the artiste dey expand him sound well well, as he mix Afrobeats with jazz, amapiano, orchestral elements and even live choral arrangements. From the opening track, the album already signal say this no be the usual Afrobeats project, as it starts with choir-style performance before moving into different sonic directions.

The album feature international collaborations with French artiste Tiakola, global producer DJ Snake, and South African amapiano heavyweight Kabza De Small. Some previously released singles like ‘Why Love’, ‘Badman Gangsta’, and ‘Worship’ already give fans early taste of the project’s diversity. Especially ‘Badman Gangsta’, wey sample Amerie’s ‘1 Thing’, stand out as one of the bold creative risks wey Asake take.

Other songs for the album include ‘Gratitude’, ‘Forgiveness’, and ‘Asambe’, wey fans expect go gain attention because of the strong lineup and cross-continental vibe. According to Asake, the album reflect him personal and spiritual journey, with strong focus on gratitude to God and growth from life experiences.

This release follow him 2025 joint EP with Wizkid titled REAL Vol. 1, and add to him already strong discography including Mr Money With the Vibe (2022), Work of Art (2023), and Lungu Boy (2024), wey still hold record as one of the longest-running number one albums for Nigerian charts.
