Kesha Neve wins Australian Idol 2026, earning $100,000 and recording deal to launch music career
Kesha Neve, a 21-year-old singer from Jindabyne in New South Wales, has been crowned the winner of Australian Idol 2026 following a live grand finale broadcast on Tuesday night. Known as the “singing skier”, Kesha impressed audiences throughout the competition and ultimately secured the highest number of public votes in a closely contested finale against 18-year-old Queensland finalist Harlan Goode.
In the final showdown, both contestants performed extended versions of their audition songs. Kesha delivered a powerful rendition of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ Die With A Smile, earning high praise from judge Amy Shark, who described her as the “most talented, coolest chick” seen on the show so far. The performance helped solidify her popularity with viewers across the country.
As the winner, Kesha receives $100,000 in prize money along with a professional recording package at Hive Sound Studios, giving her the opportunity to begin producing original music. She will also benefit from additional industry support, including a songwriting camp with Sony Music Publishing, marketing and social media assistance from The Annex, and VIP access to major Australian entertainment events such as the ARIA Awards and the TV WEEK Logie Awards.
Following her win, Kesha expressed disbelief and gratitude, thanking fans for their support and describing the experience as life-changing. She also highlighted the emotional importance of performing alongside her father during the season, crediting him as a key musical influence in her life. Kesha has already stated her intention to head straight into the studio to begin writing and recording new material, as she prepares to launch her professional music career.
Her victory is also historically significant, as she becomes the first female winner of Australian Idol in 19 years, following Natalie Gauci’s win in 2007.
