Beyoncé Launches Cowboy Carter Tour With Themed Performances, Family Cameos, and Political Imagery

Beyoncé began her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter Tour at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, delivering a visually rich, thematic show centered on her country-inspired album. Clad in a white leather outfit and cowboy hat, she opened the night with performances of ‘Ameriican Requiem’ and ‘Blackbiird’, paying tribute to Black female pioneers in country, folk, and rock. The concert featured elaborate stage visuals, including a stylized American flag and a fictional radio station, ‘KNTRY.’ Highlights included cameos from her daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi, with Blue Ivy participating in the ‘Formation’ choreography and Rumi delighting fans during ‘Protector.’ Beyoncé covered Maze’s ‘Before I Let Go’ and referenced Death Grips in an interlude. The show built a narrative around her as a Wild West outlaw confronting marginalization, culminating in a shootout video sequence and an encore of ‘Amen’ sung in front of a braided Statue of Liberty. The setlist was dominated by Cowboy Carter tracks, with select songs from her broader discography and Renaissance album. This marks Beyoncé’s seventh headlining tour, following the global success of her 2023 Renaissance World Tour. Cowboy Carter has been a landmark release, earning her historic Grammy wins and top-charting success on both pop and country charts.
