Howard Stern Shares Positive Update on Billy Joel’s Health Following Brain Disorder Diagnosis

Howard Stern recently provided an encouraging update regarding Billy Joel’s health after the legendary musician was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a rare brain disorder. During a SiriusXM show, Stern revealed he had dinner with Joel, who assured him that despite some medical challenges, he is not dying. Joel, who turned 76 on May 9, is currently undergoing physical therapy and has canceled all upcoming tour dates to focus on recovery. NPH causes cerebrospinal fluid to build up in the brain, affecting hearing, vision, and balance, which led Joel to halt his performances. Joel’s wife, Alexis Roderick Joel, expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received and optimism about his recovery. Although Joel has stepped back from performing temporarily, insiders confirm he is not retiring and hopes to return to the stage once he improves. The Tribeca Festival honored Joel’s impact on music and culture by premiering his new documentary, though he will not attend due to his health condition. Stern’s update offers reassurance to fans that Joel remains positive and focused on healing.
