Lewis Capaldi Opens Up About Therapy’s Role in His Comeback

Lewis Capaldi has shared how therapy played a crucial role in his comeback as a musician after struggling with the symptoms of Tourette syndrome. The ‘Someone You Loved’ singer returned to the Glastonbury stage this year, two years after he was unable to complete his set due to health issues. Reflecting on his journey, Capaldi revealed that he was overwhelmed with anxiety during his previous Glastonbury performance, feeling like he couldn’t continue. He admitted that therapy has been vital for his mental health and musical return. In partnership with the BetterHelp charity, Capaldi is helping to provide 734,000 free hours of therapy, symbolizing the time since his last performance. He discussed his personal challenges with therapy, admitting it wasn’t always easy but emphasized its importance in maintaining his well-being. Despite ongoing anxiety, Capaldi has learned to accept it as part of his life and focus on responding to it positively. His emotional return to the stage at Glastonbury, where he performed his new track ‘Survive’, marked a milestone in his recovery and return to music. Capaldi is also planning a comeback tour later this year.
