Coldplay Reschedules Wembley Shows Due to London Tube Strikes

Coldplay has been forced to reschedule the final two concerts of their 10-show run at Wembley Stadium due to planned strikes on the London Underground. The industrial action by the RMT union on September 7th and 8th would make it unsafe for fans to attend, prompting the band to move the dates to ensure the safety of concertgoers. The shows originally planned for September 7 and 8 will now take place on September 6 and 12, respectively. The band issued a statement apologizing for the inconvenience caused, assuring ticket holders that their tickets would be valid for the new dates. Those unable to attend the rescheduled shows can request a refund until September 2. Coldplay’s decision to shift the concerts comes in light of strikes that will impact transportation in the area, which would prevent the safe transport of 82,000 concertgoers to and from the venue. In the meantime, their other Wembley performances on August 30, 31, and September 3, 4 will proceed as planned. The band’s 10-night Wembley run will make them the first to perform 10 shows at the stadium in the same year, surpassing the previous record held by Taylor Swift and Take That. A portion of the band’s proceeds will be donated to grassroots UK music venues.
