Electric Picnic 2025 to cost between €25m and €30m, CEO reveals

The CEO of Electric Picnic, Melvyn Benn, announced that the cost of staging this year’s festival would be between €25 million and €30 million. The festival, which will take place from August 29 to 31, 2025, is set to feature headline acts such as Chappell Roan, Hozier, and Kings of Leon. Benn explained that while artist fees are significant, they are not the largest portion of the festival’s expenses. The major costs are tied to site infrastructure. The 2025 event is expected to be the largest in the festival’s history, with a planned attendance of 80,000 people per day, a 5,000 increase from the previous year. Benn responded to concerns about the festival’s potential anti-competitive nature, particularly regarding the involvement of local businesses. He assured that Electric Picnic works closely with many local traders and that the festival offers an economic boost to the local community. Despite claims from a local brewer that the festival’s sponsorship system is unfair, Benn defended the festival’s approach, emphasizing its commitment to local producers and businesses.
