Elvis Presley’s 1966 Dodge D200 Crew Cab and His Circle G Ranch Life

In 1967, Elvis Presley purchased the Circle G Ranch in Horn Lake, Mississippi, as a personal retreat and later used it as a honeymoon cottage after marrying Priscilla. To manage the ranch and care for his 25 horses, Elvis acquired practical vehicles, including a 1966 Dodge D200 Sweptline with a rare four-door crew cab configuration. At the time, such trucks were uncommon for personal use and mainly used by construction or utility crews. Elvis not only bought one truck but a fleet of Dodge and Chevrolet pickups for himself, his close friends known as the ‘Memphis Mafia,’ and ranch staff. Many of these trucks featured the Circle G logo, marking them as part of the ranch operations. During this period, Elvis frequently traded his flashy Cadillacs for these working trucks and was often seen around Horn Lake driving the D200 in cowboy attire, hauling horse trailers, and moving supplies. Friends recalled this era as a particularly happy time, as the ranch offered him normalcy away from Hollywood pressures. While many of Elvis’s other vehicles ended up in the Presley Motors Automobile Museum, the ranch trucks were often sold or given away after he sold the property in the late 1960s. The 1966 Dodge D200 remains a collectible, recognized for its unique crew cab body and its documented connection to the King of Rock and Roll.
