Felipe Staiti, founding guitarist of Enanitos Verdes, passes away at 64

Felipe Staiti, the guitarist and founding member of the legendary Argentine rock band Enanitos Verdes, has passed away at the age of 64 due to ongoing health complications. Born in Mendoza in 1961, Staiti co-founded the band in 1979 alongside Marciano Cantero and Daniel Piccolo. Enanitos Verdes became an influential figure in the Latin rock scene, achieving international fame in the 1990s with hits like “Lamento Boliviano” and “La Muralla Verde.” Staiti had stepped into a more prominent role as lead vocalist after the death of frontman Marciano Cantero in 2022 and continued performing with the band despite health challenges, including complications from a bacterial infection and celiac disease. He was hospitalized in Mendoza prior to his passing. The band confirmed his death via social media, expressing their deep sorrow and gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans.
