Breaking the Record: A Musician’s Journey to Play the Trumpet for 25 Hours

Joshua, a trumpet teacher at the American International School of Abuja, Nigeria, has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest time spent playing the trumpet. After initially failing in an attempt due to a disqualification for drinking water, he tried again, determined to overcome the physical and mental challenges. Over the span of 25 hours and 30 minutes, Joshua played a mix of classical pieces, Afrobeat, jazz, and pop, pushing through lip injuries, fatigue, and muscle cramps. His efforts were not just about setting a record but about showing his students the power of resilience and perseverance. The performance was also an opportunity to highlight the value of music and its capacity to inspire others, especially through Joshua’s upcoming Music Empowerment tour across Africa.
