PARI to Launch Awit Museum Celebrating Filipino Music and Artists

The Philippines is set to welcome the Awit Museum, a new cultural institution dedicated to celebrating the rich history of Filipino music and artists. Spearheaded by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI), the museum aims to become a top destination for fans of Original Pilipino Music (OPM). The Awit Museum will showcase decades of Awit Awards history, offer seasonal exhibits featuring iconic costumes and props from music videos, and provide a venue for live performances by Filipino artists. Beyond fan engagement, the museum will house the PARI office, allowing artists to seek guidance and attend workshops to refine their craft. To fund the project, PARI will host the first-ever Awit Fest on January 27, featuring both local and international performers, with all proceeds going toward the museum’s development. Currently, PARI has 35 member music labels, including Sony Music, Universal Music Group Philippines, and Viva Records. Enzo Valdez, the new PARI president, described the Awit Museum as the organization’s largest long-term cultural initiative. The exact opening date has yet to be announced, but the project reflects a major step forward in promoting the Philippine music industry and preserving its cultural legacy for future generations.
