Shatta Wale Detained for Questioning in Lamborghini Probe Linked to Fraud Case

Shatta Wale, the popular Ghanaian musician, was briefly detained as part of an investigation regarding the purchase of his 2019 Lamborghini Urus. The car, which was seized earlier this month, is allegedly linked to a $4 million criminal enterprise in the US involving Ghanaian fraudster Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a prison sentence for fraud. While Shatta Wale denied any connection to Amuah, claiming to be a third-party owner of the vehicle, authorities have been working with the FBI to return the car to the US as part of the restitution process for Amuah’s victims. The musician was granted bail after being questioned, and his fans showed their support outside the Economic and Organised Crime Office (Eoco) in Accra. This case is part of a broader effort by Ghana to cooperate with the US in dismantling international fraud networks, including a recent crackdown on romance scams and phishing attacks. Despite the legal matters, Wale’s management has assured fans that his legal team is actively working to resolve the situation.
