Glastonbury Festival is set to kick off its main stages on Friday with performances from artists like Alanis Morissette, Wet Leg, Rizzle Kicks, Denzel Curry, PinkPantheress, Loyle Carner, and Busta Rhymes. The highlight of the day will be The 1975’s headlining performance at the Pyramid Stage, marking their only concert of the year. The band, led by Matty Healy, has reportedly spent a significant amount on a custom-designed stage for this performance. The festival is buzzing with rumors about surprise acts, including the possibility of Lewis Capaldi returning to the stage after a hiatus due to health issues. Other rumored performers for the festival include Olivia Dean, Jamie xx, Lorde, and Haim, with some surprise performances expected in various stages. In addition to the music, Glastonbury will also feature political and social discussions, focusing on the climate crisis, political conflicts, and rising social issues. Among the speakers is former Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker, who will talk about unity and kindness in a divided world. The festival has always supported left-leaning causes, with proceeds going to charities like Oxfam and Greenpeace, and founder Michael Eavis confirmed that this ethos will continue.
