Yurtel Luxury Camping Company Collapses, Leaving Glastonbury Customers Without Tickets or Refunds

A number of festival-goers who planned to attend Glastonbury 2025 have been left without accommodation or tickets after Yurtel, a luxury yurt and glamping company based in Corsham, Wiltshire, entered liquidation on 8 May. Customers had purchased expensive hospitality packages through Yurtel, ranging from £10,000 to £16,500, expecting premium accommodation and event access. However, the company announced via email that it had ceased trading due to insolvency and would not be able to fulfill any bookings. Yurtel also stated that payments made cannot be refunded, though a claims process will be shared with creditors in due course. One affected customer, Lydia, shared her frustration, saying she paid over £10,000 via bank transfer because Yurtel allegedly didn’t allow credit card payments. Her parents spent an additional £16,000 to join her. Glastonbury Festival distanced itself from the company, explaining that Yurtel operated independently and had not secured tickets for the 2025 event. The festival urged affected customers to contact the liquidator and promised to provide alternative ticket and accommodation options for those impacted. The 2025 Glastonbury Festival is scheduled to run from 25 to 29 June, featuring headliners Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo, and The 1975.
