Ja Rule Issues Public Apology Following Onboard Dispute With Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda

Rapper Ja Rule became involved in a public dispute during a Delta flight from San Francisco to New York City on February 8, when an argument broke out between him, Tony Yayo, and Uncle Murda. Video footage obtained by TMZ captured the heated exchange inside the aircraft cabin, showing Ja Rule visibly upset and repeatedly shouting, “What we doing?” while another voice, believed to be Tony Yayo, responded with expletives. A fellow passenger was seen attempting to calm Ja Rule by placing his hands on his shoulders as tensions escalated.

Following the incident, Ja Rule initially downplayed the altercation on social media, describing it as “hilarious” and claiming he confronted the two men over past comments they had made about him. He also stated that he threw a pillow at Tony Yayo during the argument. In a statement to PEOPLE, he referred to the pair as “clowns” and suggested he addressed them because of their history of speaking negatively about him.

However, two days later, Ja Rule changed his tone and issued a public apology on Instagram. Sharing a screenshot from an ABC News broadcast, he admitted he was not proud of his behavior and acknowledged that the situation had gotten out of hand. He apologized to his wife, family, fans, and business partners, emphasizing that while he stands his ground, he does not seek out trouble.

Uncle Murda also shared his own footage of the moments leading up to the confrontation, which appeared to show someone making a provocative remark toward Ja Rule before the argument began. Delta Airlines confirmed that cabin crew addressed the disagreement and that one passenger was rebooked on a later flight. The incident also drew attention from 50 Cent, who mocked Ja Rule online, referencing their long-standing feud.
