Karen Mthethwa takes over mid-morning show as YFM announces 2026 line-up changes

Youth-focused radio station YFM has rolled out major updates to its 2026 line-up, reflecting its ongoing commitment to showcasing young, dynamic talent. Radio personality Karen Mthethwa, who first joined the station in 2014 after winning the Switch Be The Next Presenter Search, will now host the mid-morning slot from 9:00am to 12:00pm with her show ‘The Glow Up’. This move marks a significant career step as she leads a refreshed format following the departure of long-time host Xtremme, who is pursuing new business ventures.

The evening schedule also gets a shake-up with media powerhouse Barbara ‘Baxbara’ Moagi joining Tulz Madala on ‘Uncensored’ from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. Their collaboration promises to bring fearless conversation and bold energy to the airwaves. Meanwhile, YFM bids farewell to Dimpho Makgotho, who has been part of the team for four years.

Hip-hop fans can look forward to DJ Sliqe and Roiii taking over the ‘Hip Hop at Y’ slot every Sunday evening, while podcast personality Munaka will helm ‘The Rizz’ on Saturdays at 5:00pm, spotlighting rising stars and street culture. Popular DJ Karma will host ‘Karma Karma Radio’ at 9:00pm on Saturdays, and Kmass joins the weekend line-up during the 10:00am–2:00pm block. The station’s flagship shows, ‘The Way Up’ with Nia Brown and Okay Wasabi and ‘The Home Run’ with Ayanda MVP and Sinaye Kotobe, remain unchanged, reflecting their enduring popularity. Overall, YFM’s 2026 roster blends consistency with fresh voices, keeping its youthful energy and culture-first ethos intact.
