Katherine Jenkins Performs Classical Version of ‘Golden’ from KPop Demon Hunters

Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins has recorded a classical reinterpretation of ‘Golden’, the breakout song from the animated film ‘KPop Demon Hunters’, which became a global hit in 2025. Jenkins, known for her operatic and choral performances, was inspired by the song’s positive and empowering message, believing it could be transformed into a beautiful aria. The film, now Netflix’s most-watched movie, tells the story of K-pop stars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who secretly act as guardians of the world, and features catchy music and dynamic dance sequences popular with young audiences. Jenkins learned parts of the song in Korean for the recording, marking her first experience singing in the language. Her eldest daughter, Aaliyah, also participated, singing towards the end of the track, which added a personal family touch. Jenkins will perform the classical version on the Royal Variety Show, where she will also sing the national anthem.
