Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jimmy Fallon Perform ‘Hamilton’ Medley with Classroom Instruments on ‘The Tonight Show’

Lin-Manuel Miranda appeared on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon to promote the 10th anniversary of ‘Hamilton’ and its upcoming theatrical release. During the segment, the two performed a fun medley of iconic songs from the Broadway musical, such as ‘Alexander Hamilton’ and ‘My Shot,’ using childhood instruments like a triangle and kazoo. Miranda also discussed his journey with the musical, including the seven-year process of writing it and the emotional relief of finally debuting it on stage. He recalled the time Prince attended a performance of ‘Hamilton’ and mentioned the FOMO he felt when he missed a party thrown by Prince for the cast. In addition to the live performance, Miranda announced that the filmed version of ‘Hamilton’ will be shown in theaters starting September 5, 2025. Originally released on Disney+ in 2020, this ‘live capture’ of the musical, featuring most of the original cast, will finally be seen in cinemas. The Broadway production of ‘Hamilton’ has won 11 Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and more, becoming a cultural phenomenon since its debut in 2015.
