Roundhay Festival: New Music Event Coming to Leeds’ Iconic Park Next Summer

Leeds will host a brand new music festival at Roundhay Park next summer, according to an announcement from the city council. The festival, named Roundhay Festival, is expected to showcase both local and international talent, with prominent performers from around the world. Roundhay Park, one of Europe’s largest city parks, has previously seen legendary acts such as Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and Michael Jackson. This new event aims to draw even bigger names, enhancing Leeds’ cultural profile while contributing significantly to the local economy. The festival will attract up to 69,999 attendees, a capacity similar to a concert by Ed Sheeran in 2019. In collaboration with AEG Presents, known for organizing major festivals in London, the festival will feature high-profile performances and a variety of free midweek activities, highlighting local talent. Additionally, Roundhay School will be involved in providing students with opportunities in the music and event industries. Local businesses and suppliers will also benefit, boosting the area’s hospitality and tourism sectors. Council leader James Lewis expressed confidence that the festival would help further establish Leeds as a major cultural hub. With excitement building across the region, the festival is expected to make a lasting impact on both the city and the music scene at large.
