Man Arrested for Stealing Flowers Left in Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

A man has been charged in connection with the theft of flowers left as a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne in Birmingham, following his death on July 22. The flowers were placed near a bench in the city center to commemorate Osbourne’s role as the frontman of Black Sabbath. Parviz Jafari, 45, was arrested on August 2 after police received reports of the theft from the location on Broad Street. Jafari is set to appear in court on September 3. Following Osbourne’s passing, thousands of tributes, including flowers, cards, and other items, were left at the site. Birmingham City Council began the process of collecting the tributes in early August, with plans to photograph and catalogue the items before passing them on to Osbourne’s family. Some of the flowers will be scattered at his grave. A procession on July 30 saw the Osbourne family viewing the tributes, as the heavy metal icon’s body was taken through his hometown for a final farewell. Additionally, the BBC announced a documentary about the last chapter of Osbourne’s life, which will be broadcast later. This marks the latest in a series of emotional moments for the family and fans as they say goodbye to the music legend.
