Meg Duffy Discusses Artistic Evolution and Themes in New Hand Habits Album Blue Reminder
Meg Duffy, the musician behind Hand Habits, is set to release their new album ‘Blue Reminder’ on August 22, 2025, under Fat Possum Records. This album follows the critical success of their 2021 record ‘Fun House’ and a 2023 EP. ‘Blue Reminder’ was produced with Joseph Lorge, featuring live-tracked sessions and contributions from notable collaborators including Blake Mills, Olivia Kaplan, and members of SML. The album expresses Duffy’s journey toward acceptance, forgiveness, and exploring deeper personal identity themes, moving away from past pain to focus on connection and love. The lead single, ‘Wheel of Change,’ captures the idea of irreversible personal evolution, with lyrics and production reflecting intense longing and the impossibility of returning to past states. Duffy highlights the importance of embracing their true self, including their queer/trans identity, and creating music that challenges societal norms around identity and brokenness. The album represents a hopeful vision despite the struggles present in contemporary life, and Duffy also announced upcoming tour dates to support the release.
