The watchdog found that some standing tickets initially listed at £135 were later rebranded as ‘in demand’ and sold for £355, creating confusion among buyers. Ticketmaster has denied using dynamic pricing and attributed price decisions to artist teams and promoters. However, the CMA criticized the company for making it difficult for fans to make informed choices, citing unclear ticket categorization and a lack of transparency regarding availability and pricing. The CMA has now instructed Ticketmaster to improve its pricing disclosures and ensure consumers can make better-informed decisions in future ticket sales.
