Peter Hook Rejects New Order Reunion Amid Ongoing Legal and Personal Feud

Peter Hook, the former bassist of Joy Division and New Order, has made it clear that he has no interest in reuniting with his former bandmates, even for their upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction. Hook expressed his strong feelings, stating that he would not stand alongside the band due to a bitter legal and personal dispute that began in 2007. The fallout began when New Order, without Hook, reunited in 2011 and kept the band’s name, which Hook believed was wrong. In 2015, Hook sued the band over financial matters, claiming he was deprived of millions in royalties. Although the legal battle ended in a 2017 settlement, Hook has not reconciled with any of his former bandmates and has not spoken to some of them in 15 years. Despite this, he said he wouldn’t entirely rule out a reconciliation if they reached out to him with a genuine apology. For now, he remains firm in his stance, unwilling to participate in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame event or any future collaboration with New Order.
