Pulp Returns to UK Chart Top Spot with New Album ‘More’ After 27 Years

British rock band Pulp has achieved its first UK number one album in 27 years with the release of ‘More,’ their eighth studio album. The group, known for their influence during the Britpop era, last topped the charts in 1998 with ‘This Is Hardcore.’ The new album, produced by James Ford—who has worked with notable artists such as Arctic Monkeys and Florence and the Machine—also led vinyl sales this week. ‘More’ is Pulp’s first studio release since 2001’s ‘We Love Life,’ which peaked at number six. The band’s only other number one album was 1995’s ‘Different Class,’ which included the iconic single ‘Common People.’

In the same week, pop star Addison Rae’s debut album ‘Addison’ entered at number two, and rapper Little Simz reached number three with ‘Lotus,’ marking her highest chart position to date. Meanwhile, in the singles chart, Sabrina Carpenter dethroned Alex Warren’s long-standing number one single with her new track ‘Manchild,’ which also became the most streamed song of the week with 6.8 million plays. Carpenter’s success marks her fourth number one, while Warren’s ‘Ordinary’ made history as the longest-running UK chart-topping single by a US artist.
