Artists Nominated for the 2025 Mercury Prize Include Pulp, Wolf Alice, and CMAT

The nominations for the 2025 Mercury Prize have been revealed, and some of the UK’s most exciting musical talents are on the list. Wolf Alice, who won the award in 2018, are making history with a nomination for their fourth album, ‘The Clearing.’ This marks the only instance in Mercury Prize history where a band has been nominated for all their first four albums. Other nominees include Pulp, who have returned after a long hiatus and are recognized for ‘More,’ their first album in 24 years. CMAT, an Irish country-pop artist, also made the cut with her album ‘Euro-Country.’ The list showcases a variety of genres and artists, from the folk legacy of Martin Carthy to the infectious, energetic pop of PinkPantheress. Additionally, the event will be held in Newcastle for the first time, breaking away from the London-centric tradition. The award ceremony will take place on 16 October, 2025, marking a new chapter for the prestigious event.
