GloRilla criticizes police for focusing on marijuana instead of burglary investigation

US rapper GloRilla, known for hits like ‘Yeah Glo!’ and ‘Whatchu Kno About Me,’ has publicly criticized the police after being arrested on drug charges during an investigation into a burglary at her Atlanta home. The incident occurred while GloRilla was performing at the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis. Police were called after three suspected intruders were seen trying to steal from her property. Upon investigation, officers found what they described as a ‘significant amount’ of marijuana inside the home. However, GloRilla’s legal team contended that the marijuana was a small amount and that the authorities should have focused on the burglary, not the drugs. They argued that GloRilla, the victim of a home invasion, was unfairly treated, highlighting concerns about police priorities. The sheriff’s office confirmed the burglary and said a resident had fired a weapon at the intruders. No injuries were reported. GloRilla was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and later released on bond. This controversy has sparked a conversation about law enforcement’s handling of criminal cases and priorities, particularly in high-profile situations like this one.
