Christine Otieno Hosts Gospel Concert to Support the Less Fortunate

Veteran Luo gospel musician Christine Otieno is organizing a major Christian concert aimed at bringing together gospel artistes from Kenya and East Africa for a time of worship and charity. The concert, named ‘Agiya’, will feature over 20 artists, including the well-known Rose Muhando, Evelyne Wanjiru, Emmy Kosgei, and Phylis Mbuthia, among others. The event aims to raise funds for street children and widows, with all proceeds going towards these causes. Otieno explained that ‘Agiya’ is a form of worship from the Luo community, focusing on vigorous praise to God. The concert will also provide an opportunity for upcoming artists to showcase their talents before the main performances. Despite the concert’s entertainment aspect, Otieno emphasized that the goal is to impact the lives of the less fortunate. Tickets are affordable, with regular entry at KSh 300 and VIP tickets priced at KSh 1000. The event will begin at noon and run until late, promoting unity and peace, especially as Kenya heads into its election period. This concert not only promises great music but also seeks to leave a positive change in attendees’ lives.
