Bad Bunny Tops Spotify 2025 Charts as Most-Streamed Artist Worldwide
Spotify has released its 2025 Wrapped, the annual feature that summarizes users’ listening habits and reveals global music trends. Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny dominated the year, becoming the most-played artist worldwide with over 19.8 billion streams. His album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos,’ which pays tribute to Puerto Rico’s musical traditions, was also named the biggest album of 2025. This success positions him to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. In contrast, the UK favoured Taylor Swift, who topped the country’s listening charts, while Alex Warren’s ‘Ordinary’ became the UK’s most streamed track. Spotify Wrapped continues to grow as a global phenomenon since its 2016 launch, providing personal statistics such as favourite artists, most-played songs, and listening trends, all presented through shareable graphics and videos. The report also highlighted the global influence of K-pop and standout performances from musicians like Billie Eilish, Rosé, Bruno Mars, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter. Rival platforms such as Apple Music and YouTube reflected similar preferences, with Rosé and Bruno Mars’ ‘APT’ and hits from the ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ soundtrack ranking high. Experts suggest Wrapped has become a powerful marketing tool that encourages users to modify their listening habits for social visibility. This year’s edition also celebrated achievements of British artists like Lola Young and Central Cee, recognizing the enduring cultural and commercial impact of streaming data in shaping global music consumption.
