Lady Gaga, Blackpink, and Political Statements Highlight Eventful Weekend at Coachella 2025

The 2025 Coachella Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, has delivered a memorable weekend packed with celebrity appearances, political messages, and standout musical performances. Lady Gaga captivated the audience with a theatrical main stage set that opened with a dramatic ritual to her song ‘Bloody Mary’. Other major performances included Charli XCX, who energized fans with hits from her album and brought out guests like Troye Sivan, Lorde, and Billie Eilish.

Several pop icons were seen among the crowd, including Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Justin and Hailey Bieber, and members of Blackpink, especially Lisa, who also performed and was supported by actor Patrick Schwarzenegger. Benson Boone surprised fans by bringing out Queen guitarist Brian May for a duet of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.

The event wasn’t without controversy. Political figures like Senator Bernie Sanders addressed the crowd, criticizing Donald Trump’s administration. Green Day and Irish rap group Kneecap also delivered politically charged messages during their sets. Technical issues, including long waits due to a new camping system and Grimes’ disrupted DJ performance, added to the drama.

Despite these hiccups, Coachella continued to be a major hub for music and pop culture, although criticism remains about its increasing focus on influencers over music.
