Diamond Platnumz Announces Kigali Concert as Part of His Africa and Global Retro Tour
Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz has officially confirmed that his globally anticipated Retro Tour will include a major concert in Kigali, Rwanda, scheduled for 29 August 2026. The announcement was made through his Instagram page on 14 April, where the Bongo Flava star noted that more tour dates will be unveiled soon. The Retro Tour is set to start later this month in Mwanza, Tanzania, and will see Diamond travel across East and North Africa before expanding to international stages, including stops in Australia and Morocco, with the final show expected in October. Kigali’s concert will come right after his Tarime performance and before Zambia and Dar es Salaam events, showcasing the artist’s growing influence and fan base across diverse regions. Diamond, known for hits such as “Number One”, “Jeje”, and “Waah!”, has built a strong global presence by blending Tanzanian Bongo Flava with Afrobeats and international rhythms. His remarkable collaborations with artists like Davido, Ne-Yo, and Alicia Keys have helped elevate East African music to new heights. The star previously amazed Kigali audiences in August and October 2023 during the Giants of Africa festival and the Trace Awards, and expectations are high for his return performance later this year.
