Sauti za Busara Festival in Zanzibar Invites African Artists to Apply for 2027 Edition
The organisers of Sauti za Busara, one of the biggest music festivals in East Africa, have started accepting applications for musicians to perform at the 2027 edition. This popular event will happen in Stone Town, Zanzibar, from 11 to 14 March 2027. They are calling on musicians and bands from all over Africa and even those in the diaspora to send their proposals. To apply, you need to provide a short biography, links to videos of live performances, some audio recordings, your technical needs for the stage, and recent photos for promotion. The deadline for sending everything is 30 June 2026, so there is still time. The festival welcomes many different styles of music like Afro-fusion, taarab, traditional roots, jazz, hip hop, reggae, and more. They especially prefer live performances that show a strong link to African culture. Women artists and groups led by women are highly encouraged to apply, together with those who have songs or messages about important social issues. Sauti za Busara began back in 2003 and it brings together artists and fans from Africa and around the world every year. The main goal is to help musicians grow their careers, put African music on the global map, and boost the creative economy here in the region. Selected artists will get to perform on the famous stages in Stone Town, which attracts thousands of visitors each time. All applications must go through the official website of the festival. This is a great chance for talented African musicians to shine and connect with bigger audiences.
