This newly created category recognizes traditional country music alongside contemporary country, which was awarded to rapper-turned-country star Jelly Roll. At 28, Top has over six million monthly Spotify listeners and is known for his traditional, old-school sound that contrasts with the more produced, hip-hop-influenced contemporary country. Growing up in Washington state, he started performing music with his siblings at age seven.
