Three Men Sentenced for the Murder of Swedish Rapper C Gambino

Three men in their 20s have been sentenced for their involvement in the murder of Swedish hip-hop artist C Gambino, who was shot dead in Gothenburg in June 2024. The 26-year-old rapper, whose real name was Karar Ramadan, had recently won Sweden’s Grammis award for hip-hop artist of the year. The shooting was described as a premeditated act, though it was unclear which of the men fired the fatal shots, as the court couldn’t establish this beyond reasonable doubt. The weapon used in the shooting was never found, and a car linked to the crime was discovered burned out. The case is thought to be connected to a gang conflict in Gothenburg, though investigators found no evidence linking C Gambino to criminal activities. Surveillance footage revealed that the attackers had been in the parking garage for over a week before the murder, waiting for Gambino to return home from the gym. Despite raising the alarm, the artist succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The court sentenced one man to life in prison, with two others receiving long prison terms. Another individual was convicted for setting fire to their getaway car. Additionally, a related case involving a 14-year-old boy linked to another gang-related killing took place in southern Sweden.
