TRNSMT Festival Opens with Strong Performances Amid Scorching Heat
The TRNSMT music festival kicked off in Glasgow with strong performances despite the scorching heat, which reached 27°C on the first day. The festival is headlined by 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro, and Snow Patrol over its three-day run. Scottish singer Calum Bowie opened the event, and the crowd was enthusiastic despite the early hour. Political chants emerged during Jamie Webster’s set, but the Liverpool singer urged the audience to focus on enjoying the festival. Wet Leg made a playful statement with a ’50 Leg’ drum kit, while also expressing support for Palestine. Other notable performances included The Script and 50 Cent, who arrived early and thrilled the crowd with his hits. The extreme heat led some fans to retreat for shade, and NHS officials reminded festival-goers to stay hydrated and protected from the sun. The festival continues with performances by Biffy Clyro, Fontaines D.C., and Underworld, with a surprise lineup change replacing Wunderhorse with Miles Kane. The event will conclude on Sunday with Snow Patrol and other acts.
