Apple Music and Universal Music Group Launch Sound Therapy Collection to Enhance Wellness Through Music

Universal Music Group (UMG) and Apple Music have collaborated to launch Sound Therapy, a new audio wellness collection available exclusively on Apple Music. This innovative collection combines well-known songs from global artists with scientifically backed auditory beats and colored noise designed to support mental focus, relaxation, and improved sleep. Developed by Sollos, a music-wellness initiative within UMG, Sound Therapy uses cognitive science, psychoacoustics, and proprietary audio technology to enhance listeners’ wellbeing while preserving the original artistic intent. The collection features reimagined versions of tracks by artists such as Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, and Ludovico Einaudi, categorized into Focus, Relax, and Sleep playlists. Each category incorporates specific sound waves-gamma waves and white noise for focus, theta waves for relaxation, and delta waves and pink noise for sleep-to encourage targeted brain responses. This launch follows Apple Music’s recent introduction of the Chill radio station, further expanding its commitment to integrating music with health and wellness. Apple plans to continue collaborating with UMG and Sollos to deepen scientific research on music’s benefits and make these wellness experiences accessible worldwide.
