ZZ Top Drummer Frank Beard Cancels Show Due to Health Issues

ZZ Top’s longtime drummer, Frank Beard, has canceled their Hollywood Bowl concert due to ongoing health issues. A spokesperson confirmed that Billy Gibbons and Elwood Francis will continue the tour with Michael Monahan as a temporary replacement. This follows a previous abrupt cancellation of their Los Angeles show. Beard, who has been with the band for over 55 years, faced similar health challenges in 2022 when he temporarily stepped away from touring. The band’s statement emphasized that fans should remain patient during this brief interruption. ZZ Top’s The Big One tour remains active with upcoming dates across North America, and Gibbons expressed enthusiasm about continuing their long-running tour despite the setbacks. The incident highlights the challenges musicians face balancing health concerns with professional obligations.
