Investigation Underway into Ruby Rose’s Allegations Against Katy Perry in 2010 Nightclub Incident
New details have emerged regarding Ruby Rose’s claims that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her in a Melbourne nightclub in 2010. Victoria Police have launched an investigation into the alleged incident, which Rose says occurred at Spice Market on 15 August of that year. Katy Perry, 41, strongly denies the allegations. Newly resurfaced footage shows Perry attending a high school formal on the same night, surprising students and performing songs, including ‘Single Ladies’ by Beyoncé. Rose and Perry were reportedly at the formal before heading to the nightclub together. A former manager of the club confirmed their attendance, noting they were accompanied by Perry’s hair and makeup assistant and another friend of Rose. The manager stated that both celebrities had consumed alcohol but denied witnessing any assault. Security concerns arose due to the presence of 600 other guests, and both were eventually escorted out through a back entrance. Victoria Police confirmed detectives are investigating the historical sexual assault, but no further comment was provided while the inquiry is ongoing. Rose has said she cannot discuss the matter publicly during the investigation, and Perry’s representatives have labelled the allegations as ‘dangerous and reckless lies.’
