Ciza dominates at Metro FM Music Awards, scooping Best Male and Artist of the Year
Ciza, the talented hit-maker behind ‘Isaka’, emerged as the big winner at the 20th Metro FM Music Awards held at the Durban ICC. He took home two prestigious awards: Best Male and Artist of the Year. The 24-year-old singer, born Nkululeko Nciza, expressed immense gratitude towards his supporters and credited his father, music mogul TK Nciza, for guiding him through the challenges of the industry. Ciza’s rise in the amapiano scene has been marked by steady success, with ‘Isaka’ being a major turning point in his career. In addition to Ciza’s triumph, duo Thukuthela & Jazzworld also had a strong showing, winning three awards including Best Produced Album. Other notable winners included Shandesh (Best Female Artist), Kharishma (Best New Artist), and Umafikizolo, whose track ‘Uyoncengwa Unyoko’ claimed Song of the Year. Legendary broadcaster Wilson B Nkosi received the Long Service Award, and Maskandi icon Ihashi Elimhlophe was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
