Diamond Platnumz plans to launch new Wasafi artistes by July

Tanzania music big man Diamond Platnumz has announced plans to bring in fresh talent to his Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) label, aiming to strengthen the country’s music industry. According to Diamond on Wasafi FM, the label is expected to sign at least two new artistes by July, with a chance for a third later in the year. WCB, since its founding in 2015, has become a major player in East Africa’s music scene, nurturing stars like Harmonize, Rayvanny, Mbosso, Rich Mavoko, Lava Lava, D Voice, and Zuchu. Diamond emphasised that WCB looks for artistes with long-term potential rather than short-lived popularity, and that professional guidance is key to career growth. He highlighted the importance of completing albums and producing music videos professionally, making success a result of planning and commitment rather than luck. The upcoming recruitment drive reflects Diamond’s ongoing dedication to structured talent development and the growth of Tanzania’s music industry, with the goal of creating stars capable of making an impact locally and globally.
