Westlife Celebrates 25 Years with Special Stamps by Irish Postal Service

To celebrate Westlife’s 25th anniversary, the Irish postal service, An Post, has issued a limited edition set of stamps dedicated to the iconic boy band. Westlife, with over 55 million records sold and 14 UK number one hits, has left a lasting impact on the music world. The stamps feature current members Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne, and Shane Filan, each honored for their contribution to the band’s global success. The collection includes National Rate stamps and a souvenir stamp sheet. The band expressed their gratitude for the recognition, calling it an ‘honor and privilege’ to be featured on Irish stamps. Westlife also acknowledged their loyal fans and thanked An Post for the tribute. Additionally, the commemorative ‘First Day Cover envelope’ includes exclusive photographs of the band and a special Sligo stamp. Westlife was originally formed by Louis Walsh in 1998, disbanded in 2012, and reunited six years later. While the band is currently preparing for a 25th-anniversary celebration at the Royal Albert Hall, Mark Feehily will take a break in 2024 due to health reasons. Notably absent from the stamp collection is Brian McFadden, who left the band in 2004. The stamps not only celebrate the band’s achievements but also stand as a testament to Irish culture and the band’s legacy.
