Kevin Federline Details His Relationship with Britney Spears in Memoir

Kevin Federline, the ex-husband of pop star Britney Spears, releases new insights into their tumultuous relationship in his upcoming memoir, ‘You Thought You Knew.’ In the book, Federline claims Spears exhibited concerning behaviors as a wife and mother, including alleged substance use during pregnancy and while their sons were young. He also writes that their teenage sons were at times fearful of Spears. Federline expresses ongoing concern for Spears’s wellbeing and mentions his support for the conservatorship that controlled aspects of her life for years, though he could not fully support the Free Britney movement. Spears has publicly criticized the memoir, describing it as hurtful and accusing Federline of trying to profit from their past. She defended her relationship with her sons and emphasized her focus on their well-being. The couple married in 2004, had two sons, and divorced in 2007, after which Federline was granted full custody. Spears’s public struggles in the late 2000s, including head-shaving incidents and other erratic behaviors, led to her long-term conservatorship, which lasted until 2021. Federline says he delayed publishing his memoir to wait until his children were older, aiming to present what he considers the truth of his experiences with Spears.
