Luxury Glastonbury Glamping Customers Lose Thousands After Yurtel Collapse and Unfulfilled Bookings
Dozens of Glastonbury festival-goers have lost thousands of pounds after the luxury glamping company Yurtel ceased trading and entered liquidation. Customers, some of whom spent over £16,500 on packages that included both festival tickets and accommodation, were informed that Yurtel could not fulfill their orders and would not provide refunds. The company advised affected individuals to seek compensation through the liquidation process. Many customers were further dismayed to learn that Yurtel had not actually purchased the Glastonbury tickets they believed were included in their packages. Some also reported being unable to pay by credit card, meaning they cannot use chargeback protections to recover their money. Glastonbury Festival clarified that Yurtel had not secured any tickets for the 2025 event and that the only official ticket vendor is See Tickets. The festival stated it cannot take responsibility for Yurtel’s clients or their losses, but offered to help by providing alternative ticket sources if customers consent to share their details. However, affected individuals, like customer Lydia, expressed frustration at being asked to pay again for tickets, describing the situation as unfair and unaffordable. The incident highlights the risks associated with using third-party providers for high-demand events.
