Chris Brown Begins UK Tour Amid Pending Court Case for Alleged Assault

Chris Brown has launched his UK Breezy Bowl XX tour in Manchester while facing serious legal issues. The 36-year-old Grammy-winning artist is scheduled to appear in a London court this Friday, following charges of grievous bodily harm stemming from an alleged nightclub assault in 2023. The alleged victim, a music producer, claims Brown struck him with a tequila bottle in an unprovoked attack. Brown, who is free on £5 million bail, was arrested last month upon returning to the UK and spent nearly a week in custody. Despite these circumstances, the judge allowed him to proceed with his European tour under strict bail conditions.

During his first UK performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena, Brown acknowledged his legal troubles with a sarcastic comment about jail, drawing a supportive response from fans. A montage during the concert highlighted both his career milestones and recent controversies, including media footage of his arrest. Brown’s tour marks 20 years in the music industry and features many of his UK hit singles, such as ‘Run It,’ ‘With You,’ and ‘Freaky Friday.’ He recently received the BET Award for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. After Manchester and Cardiff, he will perform in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, and return to Manchester before concluding the tour.
