Dawn Robinson Discusses Her Experience Living in a Car Amid Personal and Spiritual Journey

Dawn Robinson, a former member of the ’90s R&B group En Vogue, revealed in a YouTube video that she has been living in her car for the past three years. She emphasized that it was a conscious decision as part of a spiritual journey, rather than a plea for pity. Robinson, who previously lived with her mother and stepfather in Las Vegas, relocated to Los Angeles, where she struggled with stable housing. Her mother, Barbara Alexander, expressed concern and a desire to reconcile, stating that Robinson did not have to live this way given her musical talents. A representative for En Vogue confirmed that the group had not been in contact with Robinson for over five years. Despite her situation, Robinson remains optimistic, believing her career will rebound. She also dismissed claims that she was sharing her story for publicity. Inspired by the ‘van life’ trend, she adapted to her living conditions with a structured routine. While some friends advised her not to disclose her situation, she hopes to inspire others facing adversity.
