Ed Sheeran delivered a surprise performance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival in Liverpool, drawing massive crowds to the New Music Stage on Saturday afternoon. The global pop star, known for hits like ‘Shape of You,’ chose this particular stage because he had never performed there before and believed it offered the best energy. While fans were excited by the unexpected appearance, the tent quickly reached full capacity, leading to temporary access restrictions and disappointment for those unable to enter.

This marks his fifth appearance at the Big Weekend, having last performed there in 2022 in Coventry.
