Harry Styles announces record-breaking 12-night residency at Wembley Stadium
Harry Styles has significantly expanded his upcoming London residency at Wembley Stadium by adding two more dates, bringing the total to an unprecedented 12 consecutive shows during the summer. This extended run will allow him to surpass both Coldplay (who performed 10 shows last summer) and Taylor Swift (who played 8 nights during her Eras Tour) to become the artist with the most performances in a single year at the iconic London venue.
Across these 12 nights, Styles is expected to perform for more than one million fans in total. However, the decision to concentrate so many shows in one venue means there will be no additional concerts in other UK cities, which has generated considerable frustration among some fans. Ticket prices for the UK leg of his ‘Together Together’ tour range from £44.10 to £466.25, a noticeable increase compared with his 2023 Wembley shows. Many fans have described the prices as exploitative and have criticised the singer for being out of touch with ordinary people’s financial reality.
This sharp rise in ticket prices reflects a broader industry trend since the Covid-19 pandemic, with the average ticket price for major artists reaching around $132 in recent years. The tour also follows the growing pattern among major artists of playing long residencies in just a few cities instead of visiting many different locations. In addition to the 12 London shows, Styles has scheduled very long runs in other cities, including an impressive 30-night residency at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Despite the high prices and logistical challenges for fans, demand has been extremely strong, with huge virtual queues reported during pre-sales. In response to the great interest, the initial six-date plan was doubled. The Wembley shows will take place between 12 June and 4 July. A Wembley Stadium spokesperson described the 12-night run as ‘truly historic’. Additionally, Styles announced that £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to support new bands and small music venues across the United Kingdom.
