Ex-naval submariner Munny Singh Sahota releases deep house EP inspired by underwater creativity

Munny Singh Sahota, a 27-year-old from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, spent nine years as a naval submariner, a job that kept him isolated underwater for long periods. During this time, he developed a deep passion for music, producing his tracks in the darkness of submarines with only his laptop and headphones for company. Drawing inspiration from renowned EDM artists like Avicii, Alesso, and Martin Garrix, Munny developed his unique deep house sound. Despite expectations from his South Asian heritage to create Punjabi music, he stuck to his creative vision and pursued deep house, which is now gaining recognition. Munny’s military discipline and isolation helped him refine his music production skills, and he now channels those experiences into his tracks. His upcoming EP, created entirely underwater, will be released on October 3 on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. Now signed to Run Town Records, Munny’s beats are already featured at high-profile venues like Nobu in Marrakesh. His story showcases the creative potential that can emerge from unusual environments, blending his military background with the electronic music world.
