BTS announces global comeback tour following military service hiatus

After nearly four years away to complete mandatory military service, South Korean K-pop sensation BTS has announced a major comeback tour spanning multiple continents. Scheduled from April 2026 to March 2027, the tour will feature 79 shows across Asia, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Australia, including two London dates in July. The bandmates – RM, Jin, Jimin, V, Suga, Jung Kook, and J-Hope – completed their service at different times between 2022 and 2025, with Jin finishing first in 2024 and Suga, who served as a social service agent, completing his in June 2025. BTS, short for Bangtan Sonyeondan or Beyond the Scene, has sold over 40 million albums and achieved numerous historic milestones, including being the first non-English speaking group to sell out Wembley Stadium and earning five Grammy nominations. Their upcoming fifth studio album, set for release on 20 March 2026, will feature 14 tracks reflecting on their journey together. Ahead of the announcement, BTS engaged with their global fanbase, Army, through handwritten letters. Rumors of their comeback had circulated after the band reset their official Instagram account on New Year’s Day. Photos of all members reunited have not yet been released.
